Job Type Full-timeDescriptionPosition: We hope you can help us fill this vacancy for an Administrative Medical Assistant. This desk position helps provide clinical communication and service to patients, without hands-on medical care. There is no face-to-face interaction, rather, interfacing with them through the Patient Portal and phone calls. This position is located in the Hand and Foot Pod within the Flagstaff Clinic. It requires a great deal of medical knowledge and experience, it is high volume, and the role requires proficiency with computers and EMR systems (we use Athena). Type: Full-time, 40 hoursSchedule: 40 hours per week, Monday - FridayPay: $18 - $21.50 / hr depending on experienceResponsibilities include: •Managing provider administrative worklists (buckets) in Athena•Managing appointment requests•Managing patient cases (patient questions)•Filling orders•Obtaining authorizations•Processing incoming documents•Scheduling peer to peers•Resolving patient/peer/provider needs (this includes information gathering and taking appropriate action based on individual circumstances, liaison/triage for provider team•Other duties as assigned RequirementsPosition Requirements and Preferences: •Certified Medical Assistant preferred, but not necessary•Experience in Hand or general Orthopedics preferred, but not necessary•Experience with Athena EMR preferred, but not necessary•Must have working knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and basic orthopedic conditions and treatments •Must have working knowledge of healthcare processes, insurance steps, and basic patient throughput •Must have a friendly and professional demeanor with the ability to multi-task •Great attention to detail•Must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment, high-demand environment •Must be a self-motivated individual capable of working both as a team and independently About usSince 1978, Flagstaff Bone and Joint has thrived as a successful private, physician-owned orthopedic and spine practice in the heart of Flagstaff.
