Job Description
Direct Counsel is seeking a junior or midlevel Corporate Associate (3rd or 4th year) to join the Chambers-ranked Band 1 (U.S.) Global Fintech and Payment Systems practice at a prestigious Am Law 100 firm. This role offers the chance to work on cutting-edge financial services matters, helping clients develop innovative products, negotiate financial agreements, and navigate licensing and enforcement issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Advise clients on building and launching innovative financial services and products
Draft and negotiate commercial financial services agreements
Provide guidance on financial services licensing and enforcement-related matters
Key Qualifications:
~3rd or 4th year associate with financial services regulatory experience (Fintech or Banking context preferred)
~ Knowledge of NMLS, consumer finance, payments, or consumer protection is a plus
~ Strong academic credentials and prior law firm experience required
~ Exceptional critical thinking, attention to detail, research, and writing skills
Location:
Candidates may sit in the firm’s San Francisco, Washington, D.C., or New York offices.
Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $260,000 to $310,000 annually, with actual pay determined based on experience and other relevant factors.
