Job Title : Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Full-Time/Part-Time, Hybrid)
Location : Dekalb, Illinois
Salary Range : $90,000 - $124,000 annually (based on experience)
Position Overview :
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our team in Illinois. This position offers a flexible hybrid work environment with the option to work full-time or part-time, based on your preference. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality psychiatric care to individuals, helping to improve their mental health and well-being.
As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, you will be responsible for conducting psychiatric evaluations, intake examinations, medication management, and providing external referrals when necessary. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient-centered care and optimal treatment outcomes.
Responsibilities :
* Psychiatric Evaluation & Assessment :
* Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments of patients across the lifespan.
* Complete intake examinations to establish accurate diagnoses and formulate individualized treatment plans.
* Medication Management :
* Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychiatric medications for patients as part of a comprehensive treatment plan.
* Evaluate medication efficacy, manage side effects, and make necessary modifications to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
* Patient Counseling & Education :
* Provide education to patients and their families regarding psychiatric conditions, treatment options, and medication adherence.
* Support patients in understanding and managing their mental health.
* Collaboration & Coordination :
* Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
* Refer patients to external healthcare providers, specialists, or community resources when appropriate.
* Documentation & Compliance :
* Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely documentation of patient records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
* Follow all legal and ethical guidelines for psychiatric practice and medication prescription.
Qualifications :
* Education :
* Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatry/Mental Health.
* Licensure/Certification :
* Active and unencumbered Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in Illinois.
* Board Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
* DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances (or eligibility to obtain).
* Experience :
* Previous experience in psychiatric settings preferred, with experience in conducting psychiatric assessments and medication management.
